
The purpose of solvent extraction is to remove most of the oil contained in a seed. Extraction is conducted on prepared seeds or generally in case of high oil content seeds, the cakes obtained by pre-pressing.

The extracted oil from the extractor is mixed with solvent and this
mixture is called “Miscella”.
The process of separation of solvent from the mixture to obtain crude oil is known as Distillation.
During distillation, the solvent is evaporated by heating it to high temperatures and is finally recovered by condensation.
Automation helps in achieving by means of series of control devices, better supervision and understanding of process parameters, lower utility consumptions and higher safety of operation.
The entire process is monitored and controlled by the integrated automation system. System control is based on the PLC with SCADA Operating station (Desktop PC) with easy operator interface and process parameters are monitored and controlled by SCADA system on a screen .
